Lesson Objectives - Students will be able to apply the elements of mood and tone to the present story as well as ones we have covered over the school year. Students will explain their findings in front of the class for credit.
Homework - Students are to begin composing their test essay letter: In a letter to a parent or guardian, briefly summarize the story, “The White Umbrella.” After that, explain how you made a connection with the narrator. Be sure to thank him or her for what he or she does for you. This will be collected on Monday as part of their test.

Achieve 3000
You will have to work on two articles in Achieve 3000 every week on your own. You can do this at home or during class once you have completed your assignment.
There what you do....
- Log in to A3000
- Click on the assigned article. You may have to scroll to find it.
- Complete the "Before Reading Poll" first
- Read the "Thought Question," but but don't answer it until you have finished reading the article
- Click on "Article" and read it
- Go back and complete the "Thought Question," then move on to the "Activity"
- Check the Important Due Dates above to see when the assignment is due

- The 2017-2018 school year is Mr. Swain's 20th year at Conrad as a teacher. During this time, he has seen many positive changes with the Conrad facilities and programs. Mr. Swain completed his master's degree in educational technology and is looking forward to using these skills in the classroom.
