Parents & Guardians: There are only FIVE more calendar weeks to the student school year.  Please stress the importance of finishing the year on a positive note.  I have submitted the interim grades and many students are working below potential.  Please check grades on Home Access Center and ask your child for the Student Detail Reports that I plan on sending home after each major assignment.

Lesson Objectives - Students will be able to...

• Discuss the importance of being accepted by a group.
• Use author clues such as mood and tone in order to predict the outcome of "The White Umbrella."

Homework - Answer the following in a paragraph with a topic sentence: Do you think that people should have to change in order to be accepted by a group?  Explain both sides of the issue with specific examples.
