Lesson Objectives - Students will complete their Word Sort for Vocabulary Unit 3.  They will then finish next story, "The Latehomecomer," where they will analyze the author's use of simile, metaphor, and sensory details.  They will brainstorm the author's purpose and determine where these ideas will fit into the Performance Task.
Homework - Students are to begin reading their book for October's RRS.

  • CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.8.4 - Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including figurative and connotative meanings; analyze the impact of specific word choices on meaning and tone, including analogies or allusions to other texts.
