8th Grade

Lesson Objectives - Students will define and find examples of static and dynamic characters in our new story, "The Treasure of Lemon Brown."  The will apply this concept to other types of media including movies and TV shows.
Homework - Create a chart that lists and explains 5 examples of dynamic characters in books you have read.

7th Grade

Lesson Objectives - Students will examine the methods by which the author applies characterization in order to create realistic personality qualities to the characters in the story.  Students will then apply these methods to previous stories we have read this year.
Homework - Students are to begin writing their rough draft for the following essay question: Explain the author's use of static and dynamic characters from the story "What Do Fish Have to Do with Anything?"  Rough drafts are due before Monday's test.
