Lesson Objectives - Students will continue looking at the elements of foreshadowing that reveal the surprise ending of O. Henry's "After 20 Years." Students will then examine the story elements such as exposition, rising action, climax, and resolution. They will then apply these ideas to other media sources.
Homework - There is a quiz on Vocabulary Unit VI tomorrow. Interview Question: "Over the past 20 years, what are some things which you have done that make you the most proud? Explain with examples."

You will have to work on two articles in Achieve 3000 every week on your own. You can do this at home or during class once you have completed your assignment.

- Log in to A3000
- Click on the assigned article. You may have to scroll to find it.
- Complete the "Before Reading Poll" first
- Read the "Thought Question," but but don't answer it until you have finished reading the article
- Click on "Article" and read it
- Go back and complete the "Thought Question," then move on to the "Activity"
- Check the Important Due Dates above to see when the assignment is due

- The 2017-2018 school year is Mr. Swain's 20th year at Conrad as a teacher. During this time, he has seen many positive changes with the Conrad facilities and programs. Mr. Swain completed his master's degree in educational technology and is looking forward to using these skills in the classroom.
