Lesson Objectives - Students will examine and identify uses of compound subjects and verbs in various sentences. Doing so will help enable them to refine their writing. Students will then have time to peer edit their essay assignment that is due at the beginning of class on Monday.
Homework - Students are to FINISH writing their essay rough draft. Essay topic: Explain Langston Hughes' use of internal and external conflict in his story "Thank You, M'am." Please see Wednesday's blog entry for more details.

Achieve 3000
You will have to work on two articles in Achieve 3000 every week on your own. You can do this at home or during class once you have completed your assignment.
There what you do....
- Log in to A3000
- Click on the assigned article. You may have to scroll to find it.
- Complete the "Before Reading Poll" first
- Read the "Thought Question," but but don't answer it until you have finished reading the article
- Click on "Article" and read it
- Go back and complete the "Thought Question," then move on to the "Activity"
- Check the Important Due Dates above to see when the assignment is due
