Lesson Objectives - After a few grammar exercises related to sentence construction, students will begin planning their next class presentation. In it, students will simulate a court case that will determine if the company that built the Titanic should be held liable for the tragedy. Students will present arguments for their side of the issue.
Homework - Students will pick a major company (Apple, McDonald's, etc.) and create a list of 5 statements that explain the company's legal obligations to the consumer. For example: Ford Motor Company... (1) has the responsibility to provide vehicles that would safely protect its drivers in a normal-speed collisions.

You will have to work on two articles in Achieve 3000 every week on your own. You can do this at home or during class once you have completed your assignment.

- Log in to A3000
- Click on the assigned article. You may have to scroll to find it.
- Complete the "Before Reading Poll" first
- Read the "Thought Question," but but don't answer it until you have finished reading the article
- Click on "Article" and read it
- Go back and complete the "Thought Question," then move on to the "Activity"
- Check the Important Due Dates above to see when the assignment is due

- The 2017-2018 school year is Mr. Swain's 20th year at Conrad as a teacher. During this time, he has seen many positive changes with the Conrad facilities and programs. Mr. Swain completed his master's degree in educational technology and is looking forward to using these skills in the classroom.
