Lesson Objectives - Students will begin their next story "Exploring the Titanic." They will examine the facts and opinions used to support the author's main arguments.
Homework - Answer the following in a paragraph: What was your opinion of the passengers and crew while the lifeboats were being loaded? What might this say about human nature? Could more lives have been saved if evacuation efforts had been designed/conducted differently? Explain with examples.

You will have to work on two articles in Achieve 3000 every week on your own. You can do this at home or during class once you have completed your assignment.

- Log in to A3000
- Click on the assigned article. You may have to scroll to find it.
- Complete the "Before Reading Poll" first
- Read the "Thought Question," but but don't answer it until you have finished reading the article
- Click on "Article" and read it
- Go back and complete the "Thought Question," then move on to the "Activity"
- Check the Important Due Dates above to see when the assignment is due

- The 2017-2018 school year is Mr. Swain's 20th year at Conrad as a teacher. During this time, he has seen many positive changes with the Conrad facilities and programs. Mr. Swain completed his master's degree in educational technology and is looking forward to using these skills in the classroom.
