Lesson Objectives - Students will analyze the factors that influence decision-making skills.   The goal of this lesson is to enable students to identify the persuasive techniques used in advertising today.  Students will create and perform an example of one of these techniques.  They will then identify and critique the examples from the other groups. 
Homework - Watch a half-hour of television and complete #6-7 on page 108
CCSS -
  • CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.7.1 Cite several pieces of textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
  • CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.7.8 Trace and evaluate the argument and specific claims in a text, assessing whether the reasoning is sound and the evidence is relevant and sufficient to support the claims.
