8th Grade

Lesson Objectives - Students will start their next story, "Flowers for Algernon."  They will then make inferences based on the information provided by the author.  Students will also use characterization techniques to document the changes the main character undergoes over the course of the story.
Homework - In a paragraph, answer the following question: If there was one mental ability you wish you could develop, what would it be? How would you use it?  Explain with details.

7th Grade

Lesson Objectives - Students will present their interpretations of "The War of the Wall" if it was narrated by the Painter Lady.  Students will examine how the story's theme changes with a shift in perspective.    
Homework - In a paragraph, answer the following question: If an artist painted a mural in your neighborhood, what heroes do you think your neighbors would want represented?  Explain
