Lesson Objectives - Students will examine the author's purpose in his use of the third-person omniscient point of view in "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi." They will then have come to continue writing and editing their test essay rough drafts.
Homework - Students will finish writing their essay rough drafts of the following writing prompt: "From the story 'Rikki-Tikki-Tavi,' explain Rudyard Kipling's use of personification in three different animal characters." The completed rough draft is due before they start their test on Monday. (See Wednesday's post for the outline!)

Achieve 3000
You will have to work on two articles in Achieve 3000 every week on your own. You can do this at home or during class once you have completed your assignment.
There what you do....
- Log in to A3000
- Click on the assigned article. You may have to scroll to find it.
- Complete the "Before Reading Poll" first
- Read the "Thought Question," but but don't answer it until you have finished reading the article
- Click on "Article" and read it
- Go back and complete the "Thought Question," then move on to the "Activity"
- Check the Important Due Dates above to see when the assignment is due

- The 2017-2018 school year is Mr. Swain's 20th year at Conrad as a teacher. During this time, he has seen many positive changes with the Conrad facilities and programs. Mr. Swain completed his master's degree in educational technology and is looking forward to using these skills in the classroom.
