Lesson Objectives - After an exercise that demonstrates the author's use of characterization, students will present their examples of static/dynamic characters to the class. They will then continue with Vocabulary Lesson 4.
Homework - Students are to continue writing their test essay rough draft. The rough draft is due on Monday. The question is as follows: Explain the author's use of static and dynamic characters from the story, "What Do Fish Have to do With Anything?" Test corrections for "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi" are due tomorrow.

You will have to work on two articles in Achieve 3000 every week on your own. You can do this at home or during class once you have completed your assignment.

- Log in to A3000
- Click on the assigned article. You may have to scroll to find it.
- Complete the "Before Reading Poll" first
- Read the "Thought Question," but but don't answer it until you have finished reading the article
- Click on "Article" and read it
- Go back and complete the "Thought Question," then move on to the "Activity"
- Check the Important Due Dates above to see when the assignment is due

- The 2017-2018 school year is Mr. Swain's 20th year at Conrad as a teacher. During this time, he has seen many positive changes with the Conrad facilities and programs. Mr. Swain completed his master's degree in educational technology and is looking forward to using these skills in the classroom.
