Lesson Objectives -Students will start their final Vocabulary Chapter of the year.  They will then continue their analysis of Roald Dahl's "Boy: Tales of Childhood."

  • create an example of historical fiction using a contemporary movie or book.  They will begin presenting these to the class today.
Homework - Answer the following in a paragraph: If someone in the future were to write a historical fiction story with the year 2011 as its setting, what important details should the writer use?  Explain with details.


7th Grade
Lesson Objectives - Students will...
  • improve their test score from "Dark They Were, and Golden Eyed" by making corrections/improvements.
  • start the next story, "Boy: Tales from Childhood."  Students will forge connections with the author by finding similarities in their childhood experiences.

Homework - Students will bring home the test corrections for parent review and signature.

Lesson Objectives - Students will make quiz corrections on their most recent vocabulary quiz.  They will expand their descriptive writing toolbox by identifying and using prepositional phrases. They will finish the class by sharing their presentations from yesterday.
